Strengthening Loreto’s Eco-Tourism

While all of KLM’s environment-focused programs strengthen Loreto’s eco-tourism future, our efforts to build conservation-friendly capacity within the community and empower local ranchers, business, and other program implementers, enables sustainable eco-tourism for Loreto to thrive well into the future.

Programs

CSA Start-Up Support

Harvesting Hope, One Basket at a Time.

At Keep Loreto Magical, we’re helping Loretano farmers and their families build thriving Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs — giving them a reliable market for their organic produce while delivering fresh, affordable, locally grown food to the tables of residents and restaurants.

But this program does more than feed people — it keeps local farmers on their land, making them less vulnerable to pressure from mining companies and developers who would exploit the region’s natural resources and threaten our fragile water aquifers.

When you support local agriculture, you’re not just buying better food — you’re investing in clean water, open space, and a sustainable future for Loreto.

Ranch Diversification

Sustainable Ranching For a Thirsty Land.

Loreto’s ranching families are facing rising pressure from drought and resource scarcity. That’s why Keep Loreto Magical is working with local ranchers to diversify their operations by growing low-water organic forage plants — nutritious crops that support healthier herds with a smaller environmental footprint.

By helping ranchers transition to sustainable feed, we’re not only reducing water use — we’re also enabling them to produce local goat-milk products for Loreto’s markets in a way that’s both economically viable and environmentally responsible.

This innovative approach strengthens the region’s food economy, preserves rural livelihoods, and helps protect the aquifers and landscapes we all depend on.

national Marine Park

Protecting the Blue Heart of Loreto.

The Loreto Bay National Marine Park is more than a scenic wonder — it’s a vital sanctuary for dolphins, whales, sea turtles, reef fish, seabirds, and countless other species that make our region so unique.

At Keep Loreto Magical, we work to ensure this marine treasure remains healthy, vibrant, and protected — not just for the wildlife that depend on it, but for future generations of residents and visitors who find inspiration in its waters.

Through community education, advocacy, and partnership with park stewards and scientists, we’re committed to preserving biodiversity, promoting sustainable tourism, and defending the beauty and balance of Loreto’s coastal waters.

Join us in keeping the magic alive — above and below the surface.
